ELECTION: Cox given 'no foul' on latest political ad

The Michigan Truth Squad, a project of The Center for Michigan, a nonprofit group, seeks to "blow the whistle on false and misleading political ads in 2010."

Monday's review was of a campaign ad called "Marine" by Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, one of five Republicans seeking the nomination for governor in the Aug. 3 primary. The Michigan Truth Squad gave Cox a "no foul" rating on the accuracy of his ad.
Also seeking the Republican nomination are Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder and state Sen. Tom George.
Democrats seeking their party's nomination are Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero and state House Speaker Andy Dillon.
